Character(s): norman babcock............
Personality:

Norman Babcock is an ordinary 11 year-old boy... aside from the fact that he can see ghosts, that is. He talks to them as they talk to him; he's actually been proven to be more comfortable around the living dead than his own flesh and blood. It's presumed that he actually likes these ghosts; his room can be seen covered in ghoulish and gruesome posters of zombies and bloodsuckers and his alarm clock is even a risen tombstone. Ironically, despite the fact that Norman has taught himself to embrace his power and instinct (after how the living treat him), he's seen easily startled by the frightful interior of his uncle's house. The bats in the teddy bear make him scream; he saunters slower than molasses with only his phone to light the dark hallway, not to mention the panic he emits at the graveyard when the zombies rise. Norman may have taught himself to accept his blessing and/or curse, but it's inevitably affected him in a negative way. At least, until much later in the movie, anyway.

He's shy enough to not reciprocate feelings from others very well, probably due to the fact that's he's been ostracized from his community long enough to build a hollow shell around him. And this shell is one that can weaken, especially from the force of his (eventual) best friend, Mitch. Mitch's constant pestering and attempts to befriend the young boy gives Norman many mixed feelings. The 11 year-old states he wants to be alone all the time, that he's better off alone anyway, that he can fend for himself. But Norman's enveloping loneliness takes a gradual toll on his happiness. He knows he needs a friend, but even he's hesitant to let anyone in, after all the pain people (living and breathing) have caused him.
